Built around how the work actually happens.

Company information is a valuable shared asset. Policies, approved procedures, past decisions, reports, customer records and training materials should be accessible to the employees who need them today and the new employees and future teams who will need them later. Knowledge becomes far more useful when it can be located, verified and reused rather than remaining scattered across files or dependent on individual memory.

HurdWorks can organize permissioned company documents into a searchable knowledge system. Employees ask questions in plain English through a chat interface similar to a major AI assistant, and the system finds relevant source material before writing an answer and linking to the evidence.

An approved company assistant can support questions across HR, finance, sales, customer service, operations, training, compliance, technical support and other departments. It helps current employees complete work, gives new hires quicker access to established practices and preserves useful institutional context for future employees. Each answer points back to source material when evidence is available.

The solution can be designed to use an approved hosted AI model, such as an OpenAI, Claude, Gemini or compatible alternative, or a locally hosted model where hardware, deployment and privacy requirements justify it. The company defines approved sources and access limits.

How it helps your team. How it works behind the scenes.

Put your company’s information to work across departments and generations of employees. Make approved knowledge easy to discover, verify and reuse whether someone joined yesterday or has been on the team for years.

FOR YOUR TEAM

Ask a question like you would in ChatGPT.

Current employees, new hires and future teams can ask everyday questions and locate documented answers through a familiar chat interface. The assistant works with approved company records, instead of relying on whoever happens to remember the information.

  • Find company policies, past decisions, procedures and shared operational knowledge.
  • Help new employees learn established processes without hunting through folders.
  • Get a clear answer with links to the supporting documents.
  • Ask follow-up questions and check where the information came from.
  • Keep each employee’s access limited to permitted company records.

TECHNICAL ARCHITECTURE

Permission-aware document retrieval, connected to an AI model.

The system searches indexed documents when questions arrive. It does not need to permanently train a model on every company file.

  1. Connect approved sources. Ingest permitted files, folders and supported business-system records.
  2. Parse and normalize. Extract text, tables, document structure and available metadata. Use OCR for supported scanned files.
  3. Chunk and index. Split content into retrievable passages and build keyword, vector or hybrid indexes using embeddings when appropriate.
  4. Respect permissions. Associate records with document-level access rules and filter retrieval to information each user is authorized to view.
  5. Retrieve and rank. Search relevant records, combine keyword and semantic matches and rerank supporting passages where beneficial.
  6. Construct the prompt. Send the question and selected supporting excerpts to the configured AI model, with instructions to distinguish evidence from uncertainty.
  7. Return citations. Generate readable answers with linked files, pages or source passages where the index supports them.
  8. Maintain data quality. Refresh changed files, handle retired content and expose gaps or contradictory source information.
  9. Evaluate and audit. Test accuracy and permission boundaries and configure logging, retention and monitoring to company policy.

Deployment choice: an approved hosted model (for example OpenAI, Claude, Gemini or a compatible alternative such as Grok), or a local language model with sufficient compute, storage and security controls. Models are not trained on every document by default. Provider support, privacy, operational cost and hardware needs require project-specific evaluation.

More useful work, with fewer manual steps.

Practical tools, clear outputs, and people in control of the important decisions.
